My first post

Man, I am such a noob at this!  Need to figure this out but am glad to get started =P

My first thought was to put down what I really believe in – what is a core belief.

“Love God and love others.”

I like keeping conversations about my faith at a high level.  All too often I have seen so many Christians (and other religions) continue to pick and battle it out over so many things that can’t be proven and are merely the interpretation of the same texts.  Whether it be:

• young earth creationism vs old earth creationism vs theistic evolution vs evolution
• Sunni vs Shiite
• Messianic Jew vs Orthodox
• contemporary Christian music vs hymns
• immersion vs sprinkling baptism
• direct prayer vs icons
• pre-trib vs a-trib vs post-trib (or change trib to millenial for another fight)
• infallibility / inerrancy…or not
• is condom-use (or masturbation or porn or eating meat, drinking alcohol, watching movies, dancing, plug-in-anything-you-choose) a sin or not?

You get the picture.

So, for me, I like to:

• focus more on actions (and not really dwell on intentions / motivations / feelings) in the present
• focus today on creating the future (not worrying about it nor dwelling on the past too much (although I do like to learn the lessons from the past)
• take the simplest approach to things (and not overthink things)
